Something shifts when you're with people who get it. Our groups are led by TRC clinicians and built around the same values that shape everything we do — affirming, trauma-informed, and designed for people who've too often been an afterthought in traditional care.
Ages 14-17 — 📍 Online — 10 sessions: June 22nd - August 3rd
Sign up with Sam for an intake conversation by June 4th
What:
A 10-week therapy group where teens can support their mental health and have the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings through art, writing, and storytelling. The group will center the identities and experiences of LGBTQIA+ teens but you need not have an LGBTQIA+ to join the group, simply an open mind and willingness to be respectful to others and their experiences.
When:
Mondays, June 22nd - August 3rd, 2026, 11 am - 12:30 pm
Who:
The group is for 14, 15, 16, and 17-year olds who meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis, who may be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum (including but not limited to: queer, lesbian, bisexual, ace/aro, questioning, polyamorous, intersex, two-spirit, and uncommon gender-expansive identities) and who are willing to participate in a therapy group that utilizes creative writing, art-based interventions, and storytelling.
Why:
Group therapy is a unique opportunity for teens to connect with others who may be having similar experiences. Being in a group can be an opportunity for your child to learn and practice social skills and learn about their strengths. Group therapy can not only provide relief for mental health symptoms, but it can help reduce feelings of loneliness, improve self-esteem, and it can be a safe environment to practice authenticity. Moreover, engaging in creative writing and art-making can be fun! While the group is meant to be therapy, not summer camp, human brains learn better when engaged in play, so engaging in fun, creative pursuits can allow people of all ages to learn more effectively. Engaging in creativity promotes brain health and development for all!
How:
Email Sam Ardoin, MA LPC (sam@therainbowcircles.org) for more information or to sign up yourself or your child. You or your child will need to complete a 30-60 minute intake session with Sam in order to enter the group. The intake ensures that this is the right group for you, and gives us a chance to get to know you or your child, so please reach out sooner rather than later. If you do not have an intake scheduled by June 4th, and do not complete an intake by June 5th, then your child will not be able to sign up for the group.
